Every penny of Trenton City taxes was collected according to Benj. C. Denny City Clerk and Tax Collector. The total real estate and personal property taxes collected was $2,211.57.
The new pastor at First Baptist Church in Trenton was Rev. Joe L. Kiser. The church was founded in 1884.
1969
Addie Jones harvested bumper sorghum crop in Flatwoods. The BR-64 Sorghum yielded 68 bushels per acre. The crop was planted July 15 and harvested November 19.
Cora Hurst (Cora Lord) of Bell High School was the winner of the Gilchrist Soil and Water Conservation speaking contest.
Mrs. Jack (Ginger) Lindsey of Trenton caught a 8 pound bass while fishing in a canal in back of Wonder Land. The fish was so big it broke her pole but she wouldn’t let go. Mrs. Lindsey worked at the Trenton Post Office and was a member of Cherry Sink Church of Christ, Bell.
